"I believe God uses music to speak to our hearts in a way that no other medium can communicate. Even the most beautiful and eloquent prose cannot capture its essence. As a musician, it is the deepest joy my heart has ever known to share music with other people. In those brief times when people sing songs together, listen together, and dance together, all of our societal walls fall and we get a glimpse of the life and the community for which God hand-crafted each one of us."
Collin plays drums and percussion and sings background vocals. It is worth noting that at Collin's first audition with Too Many Drummers, before playing a single note, Dave and former founding member Josh said, "Woah. This guy is 6 feet tall. Collin, you're hired!"
Collin began his musical career at the age of 3 feet tall in Wheaton, IL playing piano. He switched to drums at the age of 4 feet tall. From the ages of 4 to 6 feet tall, Collin developed his musical skillz (that's right, skillz), including an eventual music education degree with an emphasis in percussion from the University of Kentucky. His classical percussion background is rounded out by influences such as Switchfoot, DC Talk, Journey, Buddy Rich, and Dave Matthews Band and an experience on March 23, 2005, when "God stepped in and performed an all-out paradigm shift on me. He showed me that to feel is just as important as it is to think and analyze and that love is so much more powerful than criticism."
